Husqvarna 500 TT Racer
Moto-Euro Magazine Winter Issue - 2007Moto-Euro travels to Sweden via Los Angeles for the exclusive unveiling of a 1934 Husqvarna 500 TT Racer. Have a first look at a rarely seen Scandinavian classic that roared across European racetracks and nearly won the 1934 Isle of Man TT. A combination of Fate and fatal mishaps wiped the machines from contention until reborn decades later in a log cabin workshop in rural Sweden. Though “extinct” for some 70 years the historic Husky was recently replicated from the original factory blueprints and hand built from 4,000 individual parts involving the investment of some 10,000 hours of development. Call that a labor of love bordering on a beautiful obsession

Douglas 90-Plus
Moto-Euro Magazine Winter Issue - 2007The first Douglas motorcycle of 1907 was a flat twin, a layout the company stuck to for 50 years, while legendary victories in flat track, speedway and sprinting cemented the company’s reputation for performance and quality engineering. In 1932, Robert Edison Fulton rode a “Dougie” around the world, recording the adventures in his book, “One Man Caravan.” Perhaps the most desirable Douglas of them all, though, was the 350cc T35 Mk5 “90-Plus” of 1950. Guaranteed by the factory to exceed 90 miles per hour, just 218 of these race-ready machines were built. So what’s one doing buried in a freight container on the island of Maui?

Moto Guzzi Breva 1200 Sport
Moto-Euro Magazine Winter Issue - 2007In Italy, the Breva is the warm wind that caresses the Adda River valley below Lake Como, where, coincidentally, the Moto-Guzzi Breva is produced in the oldest, continuously operating motorcycle factory in the world. So if the Breva is a wind, is the new 1200 Sport a blast? You bet! With around 15 percent more thrust, air cheating bodywork and revised ergonomics, you’d expect the mille due cento to be quicker—and it is. But there’s a willing, rev-happy spirit to the revised motor that recalls the great sporting Guzzis of the 1970s: the V7 Sport and the Le Mans. Ride one—you’ll see!

1955 Series C Vincent Black Shadow
Moto-Euro Magazine Winter Issue - 2007At a Vincent’s Dinner Club nearly half a century ago, Phil Vincent announced that the legendary British marquee could no longer continue in the face of heavy losses and fierce opposition. It wasn’t more then five months later, one week before Christmas, the last Vincent is rolled off the production line and was promptly labeled “The Last”. To see one in the flesh is indeed rewarding, to ride one is beyond words, unless those words are in Moto-Euro.
